The President and the Board of Directors of HAICTA express their deep sorrow for the loss of Mr. Alexandros Sideridis.
Mr. Alexandros Sideridis was a founding member of HAICTA and the first serving President of its Board. He studied Mathematics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). With a scholarship from the Hellenic Republic, he completed postgraduate studies in the UK in "Computational Numerical Analysis" and "Software for Large Computer Systems". He received the degrees of Master of Science (M.Sc., 1975) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D, 1980) from Brunel University, England. He attended and worked in special postgraduate programs at Imperial College, ULCC and Dundee Universities, the NPL Research Center and the ICL and CDC Companies. He worked as a Research Fellow at the University of London and Brunel (1975-1980). From 1981 to 2013 he served as Associate Professor and Professor at the Agricultural University of Athens, where he served as Director of Department, Chair of Department and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.
